The RemaDays 2020 trade fair was absolutely exceptional for Akonda, which presented its bookbinding machines there! It is not without significance that the company had not had such a large booth before, which was full of visitors for practically the whole time. Akonda clearly set out to inspire its customers, not only telling them about the equipment available, but also showing them the results of the work coming out of the machines. Their scope was comprehensive, and anyone looking for print shop automation equipment could really find something for themselves.
Most popular was the Inspiration Gallery, created from works made on the GMP Qtopic 380 foiler, available in automatic and semi-automatic versions. Akonda co-owner Dominik Szulim is very pleased with the reaction of visitors - he said. "In one place we were able not only to show our top products, but, most importantly for a printer, to show them at work. We went out of our way to meet our customers, presenting exactly what a particular machine will do and what results we are able to achieve. This was a shot in the arm sincerely appreciated by the visitors to Akonda's booth!" The Qtopic 380 foiler, which is available in many versions, is not only for finishing with gloss, matte or soft touch films, it also offers possibilities for gilding or coating sheets with silver. Dominik Szulim continues -. "If we are able to make gold invitations, silver vouchers, Christmas cards refined with old gold on the same machine... then you realize that you can do practically anything! And while we talk so much about gilding and the effects possible, even experienced printers were impressed by what they saw, claiming they were seeing something like this for the first time!"
RemaDays guests also showed unflagging interest in the Swift Speed Fold creasing and folding machine, which folds paper up to 400g/m2 and allows paper sheets to stack up to 10 centimeters and work at speeds of up to 6,300 sheets per hour! This multifunctional creasing-perforating-folding machine has a 7-inch touchscreen programmer, offering high-precision creasing with adjustable depth and giving the ability to make several perforations per sheet. For customers, it's crucial that they can complete the production of coupons, tickets or tear-offs without the need for a die-cutter, especially when they were able to observe how intuitive and simple it is to set up the machine's operation, without drawing sheets, with accuracy compensation depending on paper thickness, with vacuum picking from above and a lift table. It's a perfect solution for all digital and offset printers that doesn't require a skilled worker.
The Akonda booth also offered a look at Fastbind hardcover production. The processes of hardcover creation attracted many interested visitors to the Fair, who could see how easy it is to start or improve hardcover production. All with the use of a cover table and Fastbind binder, reputed to be the cheapest PUR binder on the market! Akonda is an authorized distributor of the Fastbind brand in Poland, a Finnish manufacturer of bindery equipment for the realization of countless hardcover binding products, soft binding, photo-albums, pads, folders, clipboards, menu cards, binders and much more.
Also premiering at the booth was a demonstration of creating personalized boxes. The IML Smart Packaging solutions on display are a response to the growing market demand for exclusive products, in small and medium quantities, including equipment for processing and finishing cardboard and covers. Top-quality boxes can be made in individual sizes for confectionery, perfumes and spirits, photo books, exclusive developer brochures, artbooks and a wide range of luxury products.
There was no less interest in other equipment presented by Akonda, such as the C.P. Bourg 3002 automated soft binding machine, where all parameters are measured automatically, so there is no need for manual data entry. Akonda also presented the SCC and SCC Mini cutting machines, which are already well-known to customers, or the SCC Bookbinding Combination, which can be used for cutting bleeds and creasing calendar backs. It is a multifunctional device, thanks to which you can automatically, from the touch panel, realize a significant part of the bookbinding tasks in your printing house, achieving many processes in a single pass.
