The priority of the printing house GS Media from Wroclaw is fast, cheap and high-quality printing, and this direction the company has been pursuing for years, basing its operations on innovative digital machines. However, in order for complex order processing to run smoothly here, the printing house had to think about equipping its bindery some time ago. This is where Akonda, a Duplo Poland dealer, came to the rescue, offering the Duplo 150 booklet making system.

GS Media is a printing house with many years of experience in the printing market. The company has been offering printing services for many years, basing its current operations on digital technology. It started with production - translations, graphic design and printing in external printing houses - of manuals for musical instruments, and while these products are still here in constant production - the company has significantly expanded its activities over the years to include the production of low-volume books, conference materials, brochures, flyers, etc. This was possible primarily due to the constant investments made over the years by Grzegorz Szajuk - its owner.

"Our first purchases," he says, "were of course printing machines. Customers wanted to complete their orders faster and faster, and without our own equipment we could hardly be competitive, so for years we relied on digital equipment and innovative solutions from leading manufacturers, which allowed us not only to meet the expectations of the market at the time, but also to grow significantly. However, it soon turned out that excellent machines (we currently have five in our machine park; two black and white, three color) are not everything. Yes - it's the most important piece of the whole puzzle, but since we needed to complete work even faster, we also needed to invest in the bindery. Hence, among other things, the purchase of the Duplo system."

This is the first solution from this manufacturer at GS Media and the first result of cooperation with Akonda. The owner of the printing house highly praises not only the solution itself, but also Duplo and the supplier of the device. On the one hand, its purchase was dictated by the need of the moment - the company received a large order from its regular customer from Germany (and it's worth noting that regular, long-standing customers from Poland and abroad, as well as customers on their recommendation, make up the largest percentage of principals here) and without retrofitting its bindery, its implementation would not have been possible. "The quality of printing we offer has been at a very high level for a long time," says Grzegorz Szajuk. - This was the priority of our business - we wanted to stand out with this, and we succeeded. So we couldn't stand still because of the bindery - here, too, we had to find equipment for our specific needs, and in this respect Akonda and its representative, Mr. Waldemar Kalinowski, were helpful, and he advised us on the appropriate Duplo solution, with which we are satisfied."

The immediate impetus for the purchase was the aforementioned order, but also the prospect of working with new customers. "At that time Duplo," says Grzegorz Szajuk, "turned out to be an excellent tool for us to realize these intentions, and hence our decision. We also appreciated the capabilities of the device in relation to its rather good price. We were also able to reorganize the work in our small team. This is because thanks to Duplo we can now work more efficiently, i.e. the person who deals with booklet making can also deal with something else during the process".

As proof of his words regarding the significant acceleration and efficiency of production, the owner of GS Media gives a simple example: "We have been involved in printing a neighborhood newspaper with a circulation of 1,000 copies for a long time. Before we bought Duplo, the production of this order was handled by one or two people for several hours. The machine prints such an edition in less than three hours, the remaining many hours were devoted to its bookletting, in which the aforementioned people were fully involved. Nowadays, the Duplo system performs this print run in an hour, and in addition, the person who operates the booklet machine can take care of a completely different activity at the same time."

Thanks to the Duplo system, as well as other investments, GS Media can now complete more orders in less time, allowing it to continue to grow. "We are increasingly limited only by space," says Grzegorz Szajuk. - In fact, we have no free space for further investments, and we will certainly have to think about this direction of development in the near future."
